I would like to thank everyone for their support in DCS. The Tuesday noon nets are continuously having more of our members checking in and testing their equipment. When I first started, we were having only 25-30 people checking in. Last Tuesday we had 68 of our members check in. I look forward to those numbers increasing in the future. Thanks again for all your time, support and dedication to DCS.

Baker to Vegas Meeting. You are invited to attend a meeting on March 3, 2007, from 0900 - 1100 hours at the CEOC regarding the Baker to Vegas Race. This meeting is to provide information on policies and procedures for reporting time and to ask questions. Any DCS member involved with the Baker to Vegas race is welcome, however, at least one member of each group should attend.

The next quarterly new member training day will be on February 24, 2007 at the County Emergency Operations Center. New members are asked to arrive at 0800 hours to complete the application process before the classes start. The classes offered for new members will be Basic, Message Handling, and an overview of Emergency Management. Please call the DCS office at (323) 980-2246 to confirm a place for training.

You must adhere to the DCS dress code when participating in any DCS event including training sessions, drills and Monday night nets. Appropriate attire for all members is the Official DCS uniform, the beige or green DCS ID shirt, black or green pants, or business casual attire. Your DCS Idenfication Card must be worn in plain view at all times. Any members not adhering to this dress code or without an ID Card will be asked to leave the event.
